How we check the exam facts

The dates, timings, task formats and pass marks on the site come from the Instituto Cervantes documents below. Where a document is no longer on an Instituto Cervantes site, the link opens the Internet Archive copy that was read, with its capture date.

Last checks

Exam calendar
Every sitting and registration deadline was compared with the Instituto Cervantes page Diplomas DELE: fechas y plazos on 24 October 2026.
Official documents
A script opens every link on the model exam pages and on this page, and checks that each one returns the file it names: a PDF, an MP3 or MP4 recording, a ZIP of MP3 files, or a page that plays the recording. The last run in which every link passed was on 24 October 2026.

Practice material

The practice sets, writing prompts, speaking cards and mock exams on Apto DELE are original.

The site will not build with a practice set whose number of questions or options differs from the task definition in the exam data. For many reading and listening tasks the build also checks the length of each text or recording against the range in the official documents, and a model answer to a writing prompt has to fall within the task's word range.

Every listening recording is transcribed by speech recognition and compared with its script. A recording fails the check when more than 12 percent of the words in its script are not heard.
