Common traps

  1. El triple, la cuarta parte and un tercio más describe a figure by comparison. If a project had thirty members and now has three times as many, an option saying it has thirty more gets the arithmetic wrong.
  2. Speakers often contrast what a project was for with what it turned into: Lo creamos para..., y acabó sirviendo para.... A question about the result needs the second part.
  3. Nada de esto habría sido posible sin... names the help the speaker considers essential. A question about who made the project possible turns on that sentence, even when other supporters are mentioned.

Transcript of the recording

Answer and explanation

The bank was created for small everyday tasks, and company for older people living alone is what it turned into, so a confuses the aim with the result and b states the result. Three times thirty is ninety, sixty more than at the start, so c is wrong.
