Band 1 on the task 1 scale describes a form that comes close to its purpose but gives only some of the data, too little to get the messages across, with most fields left blank or misread. The club learns Olga's name and her languages and nothing else it can use. Rusia names a country where the field asks for a nationality (rusa), and Moscú is a city where the club needs a street address in its neighbourhood. The profession is blank, and Si, mucho answers a yes or no question that the form does not ask, so the club still does not know which sport she wants. Four of the six fields fail, and the answers that remain are too thin for the club to sign her up.

Band 2 on the task 1 scale describes simple answers that are enough for the purpose of the form: the required information comes across in spite of errors, though some fields may be left blank or misread. The club learns Kenji's name, his address, his job, his languages and his sport. One field is misread: the nationality gets the country, Japon, where the label asks for japonés. Errors run through the other answers. Japones, ingles and Futbol have no accents, español poco puts the words in the wrong order for un poco de español, and yo gusta mucho needs me gusta mucho. None of them leaves the club in doubt about what Kenji means. Band 3 needs every field completed effectively, and here the nationality is misread and the one comment he adds, yo gusta mucho, carries an error, so the form stays in band 2.

Band 3 on the task 1 scale describes a form that fulfils its purpose with room to spare: every field is completed effectively, and the answers are built more fully than strictly needed, with some details added. Sophie answers all six fields with the kind of answer each label asks for, and three answers go beyond the bare fact. Profesora de francés says what she teaches, un poco de español says how well she speaks it, and los martes por la tarde tells the club when she wants to play. The address gives the street, the number and the city in the order Spanish uses (Calle San Bernardo, 14, Madrid). There are no errors, and the details fit inside the word range.

Qué evalúa la tarea 1 de expresión e interacción escritas del DELE A1
The official guide describes a form with short answer fields that asks for personal information, basic facts or details about immediate needs, from public life. The task tests whether you can give basic personal details in writing and write simple phrases and sentences about who you are and your immediate surroundings.
Two raters mark the test independently and their marks are averaged, and the two tasks count equally. Each task has its own holistic scale in bands 0 to 3, where band 2 describes the A1 level. For the form, band 2 gets the information across in simple terms, though some fields may be left blank or misread.

Trampas habituales
- The guide's band 1 sample leaves out the passport number, the address and the number of guests on a hotel form. The raters put it in band 1 because the answers it does give are not enough for the purpose of the form.
- Each field label asks for one kind of answer. Lugar de nacimiento wants a place and fecha de nacimiento a date, and the guide's band 2 sample still writes a month under the place of birth.
- Forms often end with an open question, such as which activities interest you. A one-word answer such as Kayak is enough for band 2, while band 3 asks for answers built more fully than strictly needed, with an added detail.

Every field has an answer of the right kind: a name, a date, a nationality and a phone number. The two open questions get short sentences, and the second adds a detail (después del trabajo), the kind of answer the top band describes.
