The official guide describes a short monologue built on a photograph of everyday public life, with a card of guiding questions. The task tests whether you can describe, briefly and simply, the parts of an everyday scene with a practical side, such as shopping or using transport. You prepare it in the preparation time, and in the exam the photo is printed on the card.
The rater marks this task on the same scale as task 1, for use of language and task fulfilment, and the interviewer’s two marks cover the whole test. In the guide’s band 2 sample, simple opinions such as creo que and me parece help the description, while a lack of confidence and few connectors keep it from band 3.
The lesson on speaking task 2 gives the full method and a worked pair of photos. The speaking timer runs the times for this task, so you can describe the scene above against the clock.
